The king had grown tired of ruling justly and decided to use his power to oppress the people. He raised taxes to fund his lavish lifestyle, and those who couldn’t pay were thrown into the dungeons. The people began to fear for their lives, and they looked to Opney for guidance.
Opney knew that something had to be done to stop the king’s tyranny. He had been observing the king’s behavior and had learned that he had a weakness for beauty. So, he devised a plan to use this against him.
Opney commissioned the greatest artists in the land to create a portrait of the most beautiful woman in the kingdom. The artists worked tirelessly day and night until they finally presented Opney with their masterpiece.
Opney then presented the portrait to the king, claiming that he had found a princess from a faraway land who was willing to marry him. The king was smitten with the beauty of the woman in the painting and agreed to marry her without hesitation.
Opney then revealed that there was a catch. The princess would only agree to marry the king if he agreed to be a just ruler and stop oppressing his people. At first, the king was furious, but eventually, he realized that he had been wrong all along.
With Opney’s guidance, the king began to lower taxes, release prisoners from the dungeons, and work towards making his kingdom a better place. The people were overjoyed at the changes, and they praised Opney for his wisdom and foresight.
